Specifications:

9" and up on small end

Length specifications: Approximately 60% or more 16', balance 10-12-14', plus 4" to 5" for trim allowance

Logs must be sound, reasonably straight and of preferably #2 or better log grade

Knots to be trimmed flush

Deductions will be made for rot, doze, shake, holes, excess crook and sweep
LARGE LOG
Specifications:

Length Specifications for White Pine: 60% or more 16'. 20-30% 14', maximum 10-15% 10' and 12' combined, PLUS 4" for trim allowance length

Specification for other Softwoods: 40% 16', 30% 14', 20% 12', 10% 10', PLUS 4" minimum trim allowance

Old, Stained and Dead Logs: Old, stained and dead logs will be graded as #2 and #3
Note: Log species to be delivered or unloaded separately, if possible, to avoid additional cost for sorting and handling at mill.
SOFTWOOD GRADE SPECS
Specifications:

Logs should be from live fresh cut timber - with 4 to 6" trim allowance

Maximum sweep and crook 4" in 16 foot log - Proportionately less in shorter logs

Rot or hole up to 1/3 of scaling diameter allowed. No reduction in grade.

Deduction will be made on footage volume for rot, catfaces, seams, excess sweep and crook

Old and stained logo will be graded as #2 and #3
